During these difficult times, its great to be able to post some exciting and positve news that Enborne C of E is shortlisted for:-
Primary School of the Year Award
Enborne C of E Primary School in Newbury has been shortlisted for the prestigious Pearson National Teaching Awards 2020.
They have been shortlisted as one of only six schools in the country for a judging visit in The Award for Making a Difference - Primary School of the Year category.
The Pearson National Teaching Awards are an annual celebration of exceptional teachers, founded in 1998 by Lord Puttnam to recognise the life-changing impact an inspirational teacher can have on the lives of the young people they teach.
The shortlist includes outstanding teachers, lecturers, teaching assistants and heads across schools and colleges in England, Northern Ireland and Wales.
From the shortlist, individuals and schools could now go on to win a prestigious Silver award, and ultimately one of 14 Gold awards, the ‘Oscars’ for teachers.
Silver Winners will be invited to a celebratory Tea at the House of Commons. The UK Ceremony (timing TBC) will take place in London, and is filmed and broadcast by the BBC as ‘Britain’s Classroom Heroes’, a showcase of excellence in education.
Catherine Morley, Executive Headteacher at Enborne C of E Primary School said: “I’m delighted to hear that we have been shortlisted for such a prestigious award. I’m very proud of our whole team; all our staff and governors and our wonderful children. I’m grateful for all the help we received during the challenges we faced. It is a joy to be able to celebrate exceptional commitment and achievement at this time”
Dominic Boeck, West Berkshire’s Executive Member for Education said: “This is indeed good news. We have excellent schools in West Berkshire, and it is wonderful to see the work that everyone is doing at Enborne recognised on a national level.
“I’m sure that we will all be keeping our fingers crossed that they go all the way to receiving an award.”
